The Property Cloud Bexley & Dartford want to find a Community Hero.

A businessman and dad from Bexley is on the search for a local hero in the Bexley and Dartford area, with the winner set to win a £250 voucher prize.

Aaron Kirk (pictured), a local father and owner of The Property Cloud estate agents in Bexleyheath, has launched a
‘Community Hero’ award and is calling for local people in Dartford and Bexley to send nominations.
The award will spotlight local heroes in the Dartford and Bexley areas, with one local winner set to win a voucher of £250 from Hen’s Holidays, which can be redeemed towards experiences, holidays or dining.

The 36-year-old dad of two was “inspired” to create the award after his two small children raised £800 for charity.

Aaron said: “The idea was inspired by my kids, because last year they started their own little sweet business and raised around £800 for charity, and they bought toys and stuff for kids that don't have much basically.

“So, off the back of that, it was like, what can we do that helps people in the area that are perhaps going out of their way, doing stuff selflessly, dedicating their time, putting effort and resources to support people around them and this is what we came up with.”

The business is currently seeking nominations from local people for Community Heroes for people in Bexley and Dartford who have been “spreading goodness” within their community.

Aaron said: “We want to hear about people that inspire you, anyone from people who donate to their local food banks to people organising litter pick-up events.

“We just want to hear about people promoting good energy that help people see the goodness in the community that we live.

“We want to give these heroes the recognition that they deserve and let them know that people are noticing the goodness that they're spreading.

“Hopefully it will inspire others to do similar as well and if it goes well this year we’ll hopefully do others in the future.”

Nominations close on April 30, with the winner set to be announced on May 7, who will then be presented with their £250 voucher reward.

So far the business has received three nominations, however they are looking to get “as many as possible” before announcing the final three shortlist from which they will pick a winner.

Aaron said: "We’ve done things in the past like sponsoring local schools, but nothing like this.

"It's just a nice thing to do. It's nice to give back and we're in a position where thankfully we can do that. So why not?"

People can submit their nominations by emailing aaron@thepropertycloud.uk or contacting The Property Cloud Estate Agents via Facebook, with final submissions required by April 30.
